This program is a sound processor that emulates the sound of different guitar amps and effect pedals and racks so you can combine them to get the sound results you are looking for.
The program's presets are also sorted by styles and songs, such as Pop, Classic Rock, Alternative, and so on. It also has a metronome for you to follow the rhythm when recording your solos with the built-in tape deck.
The program is freeware, but you need to provide a valid e-mail account to receive the download link. Please take into account that the file size is big and it will take a while to download. Also, you need to open an account to download plugins and complementary files. Other than that, it is an excellent program for guitar players of all styles.
Pros
- Free
- Many preset options
- You can create your own combinations and record your songs
Cons
- The installation file is big and took a while to download
2 stars for the way this is freeware. I wanted to use this as a practice amp, hook my rig up to it and run the line that normally goes to the amp into the computer and use VirtuAmp. The delay between the time I strum to the time the sound comes is far too delayed. It's not a problem with the sound card either. Thanks for the work on it, thanks for putting it under the GNU license. But to me it's not useful.
CannotHas, as usual it isn't a software or hardware problem but a user one. Firstly, you have to ensure you have low latency drivers (such as ASIO or similar emulated drivers), then you have to set the program to use them and reduce the buffers - I can run this even on an integrated laptop soundcard without any latency at all using the ASIO4ALL wrapper.
